It is very important that tourists are ready at the designated pick-up time, between 3:00 – 4:00 a.m. Failing to be punctual may result in missing the train or entry to Machu Picchu, due to the strict schedule regulations for both the train and access to the Inca citadel.

Machu Picchu has variable weather, cool mornings and evenings, and hot days in summer. Bring comfortable, breathable clothing, a light jacket, and trekking shoes with good grip for uneven and wet terrain.
