  • The hike to Humantay Lake reaches an altitude of 4,200 meters above sea level, so it is recommended to be well acclimated in Cusco before the tour. The hike is of moderate to high difficulty, depending on physical condition, but there is an option to rent horses to make the ascent easier.
  • It is important to bring water, energy snacks, and cash in small bills for additional purchases, use of restrooms, or horse rentals. It is also recommended to carry a small backpack for greater comfort.
  • The weather along the route is variable, with cold mornings and milder temperatures during the day. It is recommended to bring warm clothing, a rain jacket in case of rain, gloves, a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses.
  • Due to the altitude and physical effort during the hike, it is essential to stay well hydrated. It is recommended to bring at least 1 liter of water per person and drink in small sips throughout the journey to prevent altitude sickness.

 


 

Cancellation Policies

  • If the passenger cancels their reservation at least 48 hours in advance, a penalty of 50% of the total tour cost will apply.
  • Cancellations made within 24 hours prior to the start of the tour incur a 100% penalty, with no refund.

  • In case of strikes, natural disasters, or other circumstances beyond our control that prevent the tour from taking place, we will be flexible in rescheduling the visit to the most convenient date for the passenger, subject to availability.
  • If the client does not show up at the scheduled time and meeting point, it will be considered a no-show, and 100% of the paid amount will be forfeited, with no option for a refund or rescheduling.
  • By booking the tour, the passenger agrees to all the cancellation policies and terms mentioned, without exceptions.

What To Expect

Start of the tour and transfer

  • Pick-up from the accommodation at 4:30 a.m. (Historic Center of Cusco) and a trip of approximately 2 hours to the town of Mollepata.

Buffet breakfast

  • Enjoy a buffet breakfast at one of the best restaurants in the area to recharge your energy.

Transfer to Soraypampa

  • Continue the journey by transport for 1 hour until reaching Soraypampa, the starting point of the hike.

Hike to Humantay Lake

  • Approximately 2-hour uphill hike to the stunning Humantay Lake.

Guided tour and free time

  • Guided tour at the lake, with about 1 hour of free time to explore, take photos, and enjoy the scenery.

Return to Mollepata

  • Return hike to Soraypampa and transfer by transport back to Mollepata.

  • Buffet lunch at a tourist restaurant in Mollepata.

Return to Cusco

  • Return trip to Cusco, concluding the tour at Plaza Regocijo at approximately 5:30 p.m.
